Family Literacy Program (Title III)

  • Through a partnership with Adult Education, our Family Literacy Program is offered on six elementary campuses. Childcare is provided to allow convenience and flexibility for parents. This program engages parents in learning English, becoming familiar with the routines of the school and classrooms, understanding classroom instruction and state standards, and learning how to support their children at home and school. Family Literacy meets 2 to 3 days a week. Parents spend part of their day in their child's classroom, learning beside them. Resources are shared by the Adult Ed program, and teachers work with parents to help them to attain their GED and U.S. citizenship.
