    • Building Designees

      If you have questions about whether your child needs special services of any kind, your primary point of contact should be your school's building designee.

    • Child Find
      Child Find is a component of IDEA that requires states to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities (0 to 21), who need services.

    • Evaluation & Identification
      All students served by special education services have been evaluated and identified as individuals with disabilities. (cont'd)

    • Hearing Services
      Hearing services are provided district-wide to students with a hearing loss.

    • Occupational/Physical Therapy
      Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy are related services in special education.  (cont'd)

    • Speech Language Therapy
      Speech Language Therapy services are provided during the school day for qualifying students. (cont'd)

    • Vision Services
      Fort Smith Schools has one Visual Impairment Teacher/Consultant, Sarah Ashworth. She provides services to special education and 504 students.
