Welcome to your source for nutrition information!
Fort Smith Public School meals provide a healthy and affordable way to make sure your child gets the nutrients that are essential for success in school.
School meals are based on USDA guidelines that are consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Thanks to the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, school meals now include more whole grains, larger fruit servings, and a wider variety of vegetables including: legumes, red/orange (tomatoes/carrots), and dark green (broccoli, romaine). Your child’s health and well-being is our priority.
For more information about school meals, contact Tim Regan, child nutrition coordinator, at 785-2501, ext. 91385.
SCHOOL YEAR 2021-2022 P-EBT INFORMATION
The State’s plan provides P-EBT benefits to SNAP and non-SNAP households with children who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to a COVID-related isolation/quarantine. This plan will provide P-EBT benefits to students who: 1) qualify for free or reduced meal benefits and 2) were absent from school due to a COVID-related isolation/quarantine. Students will qualify to receive P-EBT benefits if the answer is yes to both statement #1 and statement #2.
As a requirement for approval of this year’s plan, the state had to formalize a parent-initiated application option to receive P-EBT benefits. Parents can click the link below to complete an Arkansas Parent Initiated P-EBT Application. Please note: Forms are due by Friday, July 29th, 2022.
