The FSPS School-Based Health Center (SBHC) will be an anchor point for district wellness in terms of physical health and mental health services for students at Darby and Tilles Elementary Schools. The $500,000 SBHC Grant is from the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. The SBHC will be located on Darby campus next to the tornado safe room.
WHY USE THE SBHC?
When students don’t feel well, they have a more challenging time learning. They may miss class often and when they are in class, may have trouble paying attention. Giving students access to healthcare at school puts them in a better position to learn. Plus, a SBHC near your student's school will allow parents to stay at work while their student gets the care they need. Win-win!
The School-Based Health Center at Darby and Tilles is a partnership between Fort Smith Public Schools, Mercy Clinic Fort Smith and Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center. All three partners are deeply rooted in the community and ready to serve our students.
CURE (Compassionate Utilization of REsources) has provided medical equipment.
