Career First Summit Coming To Peak Innovation Center

Fort Smith Public Schools, along with partners Peak Innovation Center, University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, Fort Smith Chamber and Guy Fenter Educational Cooperative are proud to host the Career First Summit 2022. The event takes place July 12-22, 2022 at Peak Innovation Center, located at 5900 Painter Lane in Fort Smith. Week 1 includes presentations for the general public, manufacturing partners and their employees, career educators and counselors. Week 2 includes events from our Industry Partners, Regional Educators, FSPS CTE Educators, FSPS Educators, Counselors and Administrators. This event is designed to bring all stakeholders together to inform and collaborate as a community in preparing our young people for the careers of the future.

According to Amye Drackett, Career Development Coordinator for Peak Innovation Center, “Career First Summit is important because it brings all stakeholders together. The Haas demo day is a chance to showcase Advanced Manufacturing and computer integrated machining to the general public, including students and parents. Industry partners are invited to bring employees for the demo day and scheduled tours of Peak Innovation Center.”  She added, “There are additional opportunities for all educators, counselors and administrators to select meaningful  professional development designed to educate about district and regional initiatives as well. This is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the career first focus in our district and region.”
