FSPS Chief Financial Officer Receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Accounting

Fort Smith Public Schools Chief Financial Officer Charles Warren has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Accounting from Arkansas Business. This honor celebrates the exceptional contributions Warren has made to accounting and finance over the course of his career.

“I sincerely appreciate being recognized with this Lifetime Achievement in Accounting honor at this stage of my life. As a son of educators, I was taught the value of teaching, but unlike anyone else in my family, I was born to be an accountant. My role as CFO of the district allows me to marry these two passions - accounting and public education. I hope to continue earning this accounting achievement award for the rest of my career, serving the students and staff of Fort Smith Public Schools,” said Warren.

Warren has worked in accounting for over 35 years and has been with the district since 2009. He was most recently awarded the 2022 Pinnacle of Excellence Award from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBOI) for an off-site kitchen project that ensured all 3,000 high school students received breakfast and lunch for the 2020–2021 school year, despite renovations that left the two high schools without kitchens.

The Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Award is a testament to Warren’s dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence in the district.
