Meet Your FSPS School Nurses
Georgia Alexander
Georgia Alexander has worked for FSPS for seven years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She serves students at Euper Lane Elementary School. Ms. Alexander knew that nursing was a meaningful career, and would give her the flexibility to work in different areas within the medical field and different patient populations. During her free time, Ms. Alexander enjoys reading, camping, and traveling with her family.
Melinda Brodie
Melinda Brodie has worked for FSPS for six years and holds an ADN (Registered Nurse) degree from WestArk College. She serves students at Sutton Elementary School. Ms. Brodie has always wanted to be a nurse, and began her nursing career in mental health, working with children and adolescents, and then pursued pediatric nursing. During her free time, Ms. Brodie enjoys crafting, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Dawn France
Dawn France has worked for FSPS for three years and holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree (Registered Nurse) from WestArk College. She serves students at Barling Elementary. Ms. France chose the nursing profession because she loves helping others when they are facing illness or injury. She has been a nurse for 28 years and counting!
Brenda DeArmond
Brenda DeArmond has worked for FSPS for 17 years and holds an Associate Degree of Arts and Associate Degree of Nursing from WestArk College. She serves students at Ballman Elementary. Ms. DeArmond always knew she wanted to care for children. She loves biology, too. In her free time, Ms. DeArmond enjoys sewing and quilting with her mother. She and her husband have three sons and seven grandchildren.
Brandy McPhate
Brandy McPhate has worked for FSPS for five years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alcorn State University. She serves students at Cook Elementary. Ms. McPhate wanted to become a nurse because of her love for babies and children. In her free time, Ms. McPhate enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, reading, and doing yard work.
Heather Kazy
Heather Kazy has worked for FSPS for one year and holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. She serves students at Kimmons Junior High. Ms. Kazy has always wanted to help others. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes to go to the lake during the summer and enjoys going to the movies.
Angel Sanders
Angel Sanders has worked for FSPS for 11 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She serves students at Chaffin Junior High. Ms. Sanders chose nursing as a career path because she wanted a challenging, interesting career that could make a difference in someone else's life as well as her own. In her free time, Ms. Sanders enjoys being outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and kayaking. She also likes to garden!
Sara Nutt
Sara Nutt has worked for FSPS for five years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Central Arkansas. She serves students at Ramsey Junior High. Ms. Nutt chose nursing because she wanted a career that made a positive impact on people’s lives, with her two aunts who are both nurses giving her inspiration. In her free time, Ms. Nutt enjoys spending time with her children and family members.
Charlie Ridenour
Charlie Ridenour has worked for FSPS For seven years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Arkansas Tech University. She serves students at Darby Junior High. Ms. Ridenour has always wanted to help others and found the medical field fascinating. In her free time, Ms. Ridenour enjoys hiking and being outdoors with her family. She also enjoys cheering for the Arkansas Razorbacks, reading and crafting.
Stephanie Beasley
Stephanie Beasley has worked for FSPS for seven years and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She serves students at Northside High School. Ms. Beasley was inspired to become a nurse when she was a teenager, caring for her parents who were diagnosed with cancer. In her free time, Ms. Beasley enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and remodeling houses.
Meagan Bayless
Meagan Bayless has just recently begun working for FSPS and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. She serves as the districts’ COVID testing nurse. Ms. Bayless was inspired to become a nurse by watching her mother provide nursing care to others. In her free time, Ms. Bayless enjoys traveling, watching her children play sports, watching Netflix, and going on Disney vacations.
Julie Simpson
Julie Simpson has worked for FSPS for six and half years and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University. She serves students at Southside High School. Ms. Simpson loves being a nurse because it gives her the opportunity to spend quality time with her family and the kids at school. In her free time, Ms. Simpson enjoys being outdoors, from cycling and hiking to gardening and kayaking.
Karen Gardner
Karen Gardner has worked for FSPS for 26 years and holds a degree in Nursing from Westark College. She serves students at Sunnymede and Trusty Elementary schools. Ms. Gardner has been a nurse for almost 36 years and she loves that every day she has the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. In her free time, Ms. Gardner enjoys spending time with her family and antiquing.
Jo Cross
Jo Cross has worked for FSPS for 14 years and holds an Associate degree in Nursing from Westark Community College. She serves students at Fairview and Bonneville Elementary schools. Ms. Cross chose nursing as a career field because a friend suggested it to her when she was planning for college. She later found nursing to be her calling. In her free time, Ms. Cross enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
Ashley Stepp
Ashley Stepp has worked for FSPS for four years and holds an ADN (Registered Nurse) degree from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. She serves students at Spradling and Pike Elementary schools. Ms. Stepp knew from a young age that she wanted to work as a nurse helping others. In her free time, Ms. Stepp enjoys watching Razorback sports, having game nights with family and friends, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
Terri Johnson
Terri Johnson has worked for FSPS for one and a half years and holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Westark Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Health Services from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She serves students at Beard and Cavanaugh Elementary schools. Ms. Johnson was inspired to become a nurse from her desire to help people and care for them in times of need. In her free time, Ms. Johnson enjoys being outdoors, watching baseball and spending time with her family and friends.
Carla Baxter
Carla Baxter has worked for FSPS for four and a half years and holds an Associate schools Degree in Nursing from Westark Community College. She serves students at Morrison and Tilles Elementary schools. Ms. Baxter chose nursing because it is a field with multifaceted areas to develop a career that works with and supports others. She has worked in nursing for 45 years. In her free time, Ms. Baxter enjoys reading and gardening.
Kelsey Ellis
Kelsey Ellis has worked for FSPS for three years and holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Ms. Ellis serves students at Carnall and Orr Elementary schools. She was encouraged to pursue a career in nursing by her family. In her free time, Ms. Ellis enjoys watching her daughter participate in various activities, camping, swimming, cooking out, and thrift shopping.
Pam McAdoo-Tatum
Pam McAdoo-Tatum has worked for FSPS for three years and holds both an ADN and RN from Westark Community College. She serves students at Howard and Woods Elementary schools. In her free time, Ms. McAdoo-Tatum enjoys going to the lake with her family and friends, going to concerts, and working her flower beds.
Debbie Allen
Debbie Allen has worked for FSPS for one year and holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas - Little Rock. She serves students at Belle Point, Northside and Southside High School. She was inspired to pursue nursing by her best friend’s mother, who was also a nurse. In her free time, Ms. Allen enjoys reading and tablescaping.
Reagan Elmore
Reagan Elmore has worked for FSPS for four years as a floating nurse. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas. She was inspired to become a nurse by her great grandmothers, grandmothers and aunts. In her free time, Ms. Elmore enjoys being active, whether it’s jogging, hiking, rollerblading or walking.
Tracie Mathis
Tracie Mathis has worked for FSPS for five years as a floating nurse. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University. Ms. Mathis knew at an early age that she wanted to work with babies in labor and delivery. She was in that role for 20 years prior to working for the district. In her free time, Ms. Mathis enjoys raising her two daughters with her husband, traveling, and reading.
Cindy Mitchell
Cindy Mitchell has worked for FSPS for 24 years and is the Lead Nurse for the district. She oversees all locations. Ms. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University. As a little girl, Ms. Mitchell knew she wanted to be a nurse and help people. In her free time, Ms. Mitchell enjoys reading, hiking, being outdoors and selling real estate.
