1. Upon arrival, students will drop off any textbooks or library books they currently have in their possession as they enter the building at the main entrance.
2. They will then be taken to an area to drop off any school uniform, band or orchestra instrument.
3. Once completed, they will be taken to their school locker to collect personal items. Any books currently in their locker will be turned in at that point.
4. Next, students will be taken to the gym to collect personal items from their pe/athletic locker.
5. Finally, students will pick-up their yearbook if ordered or they may purchase one for $35. Checks for purchasing may be made out to Chaffin PTA.
6. Students will then exit at the south end of the long hallway by the gym and tornado shelter.
Due to requirements regarding how many people that can be in the building, parents will be unable to escort their student. Staff will be on-site to assist students. Personal protective equipment, such as masks and gloves are welcome, but not provided by the school.
School issued chrome books for students in grades k-11 will NOT be collected, but will remain with the student. However, if you currently have plans to move and your child will not be returning to Fort Smith Public Schools, please let us know. Together we will create a plan to collect the chrome book and charger at the end of the school year.
This is a friendly reminder that the completion of these tasks does not mark the end of our school year. According to the 2019-2020 school calendar, May 28 is the end of the second semester. Your child will continue to have opportunities to re-do work and complete missed assignments from the 3rd quarter to increase their grade. This is a great opportunity for students who may have failed a class during 3rd quarter to raise their grade and avoid credit recovery. It is also a way for all students to improve grades and increase their grade point. We are hopeful that you will encourage and help your child take advantage of this opportunity and finish strong.
Assignments Posted in Google Classroom

Students are to log into their Google Classroom and work on assignments posted for each class. This will be the procedure for students to access all work while schools are closed for the duration of this COVID-19 pandemic.
Teachers are available from 8:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. for help. You may contact them through Google Classroom or email.

Title I Program
Beginning in 2018-19, Chaffin Junior High School will participate in a school-wide Title I program. The Title I program is a federally funded program which provides supplemental educational services to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education. It also helps to ensure that students reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.
