Teaching the core curriculum through the Arts

WELCOME TO THE HOWARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WEBSITE!

                     Howard Elementary

Howard Elementary consists of a very diverse population with an average enrollment of 251 students from preschool through fifth grade. The diversity of our school population exposes all students to the many different world cultures living within our community. Our emphasis is on academics as well as character development. Students are encouraged to think about their behavior and make strong choices for their lives by being responsible, self-disciplined and ethical members of society. We are an Arkansas A+ School. As an A+ School, our students are taught the core curriculum utilizing the Arts (music, visual arts, PE, drama).

We are fortunate to have nine strongly committed Partners-in-Education who share our vision of a community of learners: A Level Up Inc., Antioch Youth & Family, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Designer Barber & Stylist School, Fidelity Women's Club, Gerber Products, Howard PTA, Lincoln High School Alumni Association, and Weldon, Williams & Lick. Our amazing partnership has been honored numerous times by receiving the Fort Smith Public Schools’ Partners-in-Education Bud Jackson Team Award. Through high expectations, Howard students are encouraged to reach and strive for goals, to go beyond their limits, to believe, achieve and seek success, so that they may become well-informed leaders in our community and the world.

We look forward to seeing you at Howard Elementary School.
