  • Does Peak offer adult training?

    Yes. In partnership with the Fort Smith Adult Education Center, Peak currently hosts evening adult apprenticeships in Plumbing and Residential Construction. https://www.fortsmithschools.org/domain/3882

  • What is the schedule at Peak?

    Students come to Peak for half of their school day, either morning or afternoon. The WATC classes follow the UAFS academic calendar and may meet on days when other school districts are closed.  The FSPS classes follow the FSPS academic calendar.

  • Do Peak classes count for college credit?

    The WATC classes offered at Peak are concurrent credit classes.  Most students will graduate with a Technical Certificate, Certificate of Proficiency, industry recognized certifications, and some graduate with an associates degree.  The FSPS classes offered at Peak are high school credit only, but students also earn industry recognized certifications.

    WATC serves 11th and 12th-grade high school students from Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Scott, and Sebastian counties. The FSPS classes are for FSPS students.

    Peak offers the following programs through the Western Arkansas Technical Center (WATC)/ University of Arkansas- Fort Smith: Computer Integrated Machining, Electronics Technology/ Automation, Network Engineering Technology, Practical Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Emergency Medical Technician. https://uafs.edu/admissions/concurrent/watc/index.php

    In addition, Fort Smith Public Schools (FSPS) offers programs at Peak in Emerging Art and Design, Patient Care Technician, and Skilled Trades.
