APPRENTICESHIPS:
Three programs: Electrical Apprenticeship and Plumbing Apprenticeship Program.
Digital Literacy Classes:
We offer Essentials I for basic computer skills and Essentials II for advanced computer skills. These courses are designed to build skills in online job search skills, resume building, computer troubleshooting, basic computer skills, file creation, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and much more.
BASIC SKILLS:
Classes to help adults improve their basic skills in reading and math.
Pharmacy Technician:
Earn a pharmacy technician's license and prepare to work in a pharmacy setting, whether in a retail, clinical, or hospital setting. This course is 80% online and 20% in-class lab and instruction. The pharmacy tech license can be achieved in 8--12 weeks.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR):
This is a two-day class that will provide Heart-code BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
CAREER PATHWAYS:
This course focuses on soft skills, resume writing, mock interviews, financial and digital literacy, and employability skills.
EDUCATIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL:
A six-week course in collaboration with the Fort Smith Public Schools will provide preparation for the ETS Praxis exam with instruction in Reading for Information, Writing for the Workplace, and Applied Mathematics. This course includes job shadowing for hands-on experience.
DISTANCE EDUCATION:
This course allows students additional studying opportunities. Before enrolling, students must take a minimum of six (6) hours of classes at the Center.
ENGLISH AS A LEARNED LANGUAGE (ELL):
Classes in English as a Learned Language are designed for persons over the age of 18 whose native language is not English.
FAMILY LITERACY:
A parent engagement program for families with children in Pre-K through 5th grade that assists parents with ELL, communication skills, health and financial literacy, U.S. Citizenship, community resources and more!
GED PROGRAM:
Test in four (4) areas: Reasoning through Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math. Official GED testing costs $4.00 per test; ask about vouchers when scheduling the test(s)! An Express program is available for those who qualify!
U.S. CITIZENSHIP:
Civics class to help you prepare for the Citizenship and Naturalization processes.
WORKFORCE ALLIANCE FOR GROWTH IN THE ECONOMY (WAGE):
This course helps students with obtaining or retaining a job, job searching, interview skills, building a resume, and exploring career options.
