    Dear Orr Families,

I believe that families are a critical component in the education of students.  I will work diligently to keep your children safe, provide a positive learning environment at school, and to keep you informed of the great things that we will be doing at Orr Elementary.  I have been an educator for 12 years.  I was an assistant principal for 5 years before becoming the principal of Orr Elementary.  I have a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas.  I earned my Education Specialist degree in 2017 from the University of Arkansas before pursuing my doctorate.  I earned my Master of Education degree in School Administration from Northeastern State University in 2010. Before beginning my administration career, I earned my National Board Certification in teaching. I taught pre-K, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades when I was a teacher.  I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Teaching from Northeastern State University.  I taught and served as assistant principal at Vian Elementary in Vian, Oklahoma prior to joining Fort Smith Public Schools in 2017.  I served as the assistant principal at Woods Elementary and Barling Elementary during the 2017-2018 school year.  I also served on the Fort Smith Public Schools' Vision 2023 Strategic Planning Instructional Action Team.  I had the opportunity to help plan the Senior Tour and the Ambassador Tour as a part of the district's efforts to reach out to the community and welcome the community into our schools.  I also had the opportunity to serve as a table facilitator for the Fort Smith Public Schools Citizens Committee. I was a member of the first class of the Fort Smith Public Schools Aspiring Principals' Institute.  These opportunities have given me a strong understanding of the mission and vision of Fort Smith Public Schools.  We worked throughout the 2018-2019 school year to align our vision and mission at Orr to the district mission and vision.  I am looking forward to the further implementation of Vision 2023. I am now serving on the Career Tech Education Curriculum Committee that will help the district prepare students for their futures starting in kindergarten. We are also working as a faculty to implement a new Response to Intervention system that will help us meet the individual learning needs of our students.
