    Each member of our FSPS Police Department team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students and staff.  Our officers and staff are highly trained and experienced, and all come from diverse backgrounds. Two of our officers are Spanish-speaking, and we are always striving to add to our diversity. We believe in building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, fostering a sense of trust and collaboration. Sheri Fuhrman

Since 2021Sheri Fuhrman has been a pivotal force as the OAA/Dispatcher at the Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department, where her commitment to ensuring the well-being of students and staff has been critical in elevating the district’s safety and security program.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sheri Fuhrman is known for her collaborative spirit and compassionate approach to her work.  Colleagues and associates often commend her for her positive attitude, problem-solving abilities, and the genuine care she extends to others. Her professional journey within the field of education began at the district’s headquarters, where she spent an impressive twelve years providing support to the district’s comptroller. In this position, she learned about the district’s financial systems and mastered administrative accounting responsibilities.  She also earned her Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE) certification during this time.  She developed her professional skills further after moving to Kimmons Middle School, where she served as the school counselor secretary/media aide.  During her eight years at Kimmons, Mrs. Fuhrman provided invaluable support to both students and faculty.   In this position she developed an understanding from the school perspective of how the district operates while she provided backup support to the nurse as a UAP, maintained all student Chromebooks, assisted students in need with clothing and food supplies, scheduled all substitutes and provided backup coverage in the Media Center, as well as the main office where she assisted with record keeping, enrollment, grade recording and special events.  

During her tenure with FSPS, Mrs. Fuhrman constantly demonstrates her exceptional leadership skills, alongside her impressive understanding of the district and how it operates is a genuine concern for the welfare of the school community. Her diverse experiences have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate workings of school administration and public safety. Her professional journey stands as a testament to her resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to creating safe and nurturing environments for students and staff alike.
