Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment Department - Overview

  • The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department ensures that every student receives a high-quality education. The CIA works tirelessly to develop and implement a curriculum that is aligned with state standards and engages students in meaningful learning experiences. The department provides continuous professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their instructional skills and stay up-to-date with the latest educational research. Through their assessments, they measure student achievement and identify areas for targeted support. The CIA focuses on preparing our students for success in college and careers.  All schools, including the Adult Education Center, the Peak Innovation Center, and Fort Smith Virtual Academy, all report to the CIA Assistant Superintendent.
