AFTER SCHOOL DETENTION
After school detentions may be given by teachers or administrators for disciplinary infractions. When the student receives a detention for misbehavior, he/she must make arrangements for transportation. Detentions can be 20 minutes or 40 minutes in length, depending upon the circumstances. All detentions begin at 3:20 p.m. Students who are tardy to detention will not be admitted and this will result in further disciplinary action. Students are to bring meaningful work, pencil, and paper to detention. Failure to do so will result in a 40-minute detention the following day. Students who fail to show up for detention, or who receive excessive detentions, will be subject to ISS or suspension. If a parent has a question about the detention, he/she should contact the staff member who issued the detention. Students must serve a detention the day AFTER it is issued. Teachers may not change detention dates.
